DEFINITION OF PRESENTATION PACKAGE
A presentation program is a software package used to display information in the form of a slide show. This is specifically designed to allow users to create a presentation of ideas by stringing together text, images and audio/video.

FEATURES OF PRESENTATION PACKAGE
a. Creation of Slides: A slide is a single screen of a presentation, and every presentation is composed of several slides. Slides contain any mixture of text, images, video, animations, links and sound
b. Animation: Animation effects allow the various elements on each slide to appear after a certain amount of time or when a presenter presses a button.
c. Transitions: This is how the presentation software “moves” the display of one slide to another. Transitions usually include dissolving from one slide to the next or the current slide being moved in some way to show the next slide as though it was underneath.

Package (Ms- PowerPoint)
Opening the application
To open an Ms power point application
1. Click on
start
2. Navigate
to all programs
3. Navigate
to Ms office
4. Click on
Ms- office power point
I. Create A New presentation
The
following tips will guide you how to create a new presentation using both old
and new version of Ms-PowerPoint
Find and
open power point, (Open the application)
When the
dialog box appears, read and click on the OK button
Select blank
Presentation and click on the ok button
In the New
Slide dialog box. Select the title slide option
ii. Insert Slide contents:
You can type
the title of your presentation, and a subtitle on this slide or add graphics and
pictures.
Text: To
enter text:
· Click and type the title of
presentation in the click to add title area
· Click and type a subtitle in the
click to add subtitle area.
Graphics or pictures
To insert graphics or pictures:
a. Click in
the click to add title or click to add subtitle area where you inserted the
text previously.
b. Press the
enter key on the keyboard to bring the cursor down
c. From the
ribbon bar, click on the insert menu
d select the
type of graphics options from clip art, shapes and pictures button from the
menu
iii. Animating contents: This is one the
features that distinguish presentation packages from
others. It
allows users to create motion effects on their slides.
iv. Adding New Slides: After completing
your title slide, you can create additional slides. To create additional slide.
1. Choose
home tab
2. Click the
New slide button in the slide group. The office Theme display box appears and displays
several layout templates.
3. Click the
layout you want; the layout appears in the slide pane of the presentation package.
4. To add an
additional slide show to your presentation, do one of the following
5. Right
click the slide layout, a menu appears, click layout and select, the layout you
want
6. And then
choose the slide layout you want
V. Saving the presentation: To save a
PowerPoint presentation
1. Click on
office button
2. Select
Save from the displayed options
3. Select
the directory to store the document by clicking on arrow on the, save in box
4. Click on
the File name, type the desire document name
VI. Running
Slide show
After the
creation of slide, you run the slide show by doing any of the following
1. Press F5
2. Choose
the slide show tab. Click from the beginning button in the start slide show
group
3. Click the
slide show icon in the button right corner of your screen. Your slide show
appears
on your
screen
