MEANING OF SCREEN POINTING DEVICES
Screen pointing devices can be defined as any hardware component that allows the user to input spatial data into the computer using physical gesture such as point, click, and drag.
EXAMPLES OF SCREEN POINTING DEVICES
Common examples of screen pointing devices are:
(a) Mouse
(b) Trackball
(c) Joystick
(d) Pointing Stick
(e) Wii Remote
(f) Finger Tracking
(g) Graphic Tablet
(h) Stylus
(i) Touchpad
(j) Touch Screen
(a) Mouse: A mouse is a small device that a computer user pushes across a desk surface in order to point to a place on a display screen and to select one or more actions to take from that position.
(c) Joystick: This is an input device that can be used for controlling the movement of the cursor or a pointer in a computer device.
(e) Wii Remote: This has motion sensing capabilities that allows user to interact with and manipulate items on screen through gestures recognition.
(i) Touchpad: This is also called a glide pad, glide point, pressure-sensitive tablet, or trackpad, a touchpad is an input device on laptops and some keyboards. It allows the user to move a cursor with their finger. It can be used in place of an external mouse.
(j) Touch Screen:This is an electronic display screen that is also an input device. A user interacts with the computer, tablet, smartphone or touch-controlled appliance by using hand gestures and fingertip movements to tap pictures, moving elements or type words on the screen.
